PADI Open Water Divers are allowed to independently plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 18m.
PADI Open Water Divers can dive with us locally during the Summer months, can join many of our dive trips around Ireland throughout the year, and can experience some of the worlds best diving when travelling abroad. There are also many other training courses you can enroll on like Underwater Photography or Wreck Diving.
The PADI Open Water Course can be broken into three sections: 5 x Academic Sessions; 5 x Confined Water/Pool Dives and 4 x Open Water Dives. We typically complete all classroom sessions and all confined water sessions here at the Dive Centre in Bettystown, and the 4 Open Water Training Dives are completed on a dive trip to the West of Ireland at the end of your Course.
The cost of the Open Water Course is €635 – prices have remained the same since 2005!. This price includes Crew Pack with all training materials, all classroom and pool times, all four training dives, equipment rental for the duration of the Course, along with Certificate, Log Book and Licence.
PADI Scuba Diver Course
The PADI Scuba Diver Course is a limited certification Course which can be used as a stepping stone to the PADI Open Water Course. PADI Scuba Divers are allowed to dive to a maximum depth of 12m under the supervision of a Divemaster or Instructor.
PADI Scuba Divers can dive with a Divemaster or Instructor, but would need further training before joining the dive trips. The PADI Scuba Diver Course consists of 3 x Classroom Sessions, 3 x Pool Dives and 2 x Training Dives in the Sea.
The Cost of the Scuba Diver Course is €330. This price includes Crew Pack with all training materials, all classroom and pool times, training dives, equipment rental for the duration of the Course, along with Certificate, Log Book and Licence.
The first course of 2010 starts in March/April. Courses then run approx every 6 weeks throughout the year, with the final Course of the year completed in November. The trip to the west coast will incur an additional charge for accommodation (usually B&B or Adventure Centre). We’ll have more information available at the beginning of the Course.
It is also possible to complete all the Academic and Confined Water/Pool Dives with Adventure Diving, and complete your Open Water Training Dives with another Dive Centre, for example, when you go on holiday. We can assist you with the arrangements with the Dive Centre abroad if necessary. Or you can simply buy the Course materials here, complete your home study before you travel and complete the entire Course with the Dive Centre abroad.
Enrolling is easy – you just need to call into the Dive Centre with a deposit of €200 – you will then receive your Crew Pack which includes your book, log book and dive tables, and your Instructor will run through some paperwork with you.
The balance on your Course can be paid over the duration of your Course, providing final payment is received before training dives begin.
