PADI Enriched Air Diver / Nitrox Specialty

The most popular Specialty of them all …. Everyone wants more time doing what they enjoy, and Nitrox is your key to longer dives.

The PADI Enriched Air Specialty, or Nitrox Specialty, is also one of the easiest Specialty Courses to complete, as it entails just one Classroom session.  During this classroom session, divers learn:

• Techniques for getting more dive time by using enriched air nitrox;
• Enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations;
• Enriched air considerations, including managing oxygen exposure, how to tell what’s in your dive tank and considerations for diving with computers. 

At the start of the classroom session, divers will hand in their paperwork (incl in their Crew Pack) and will watch a short DVD covering the main topics of the Nitrox Course.  We then review both knowledge reviews and work through a number of sample problems on your new dive tables.

We then move on to planning two dives and analysing our two Nitrox tanks for these two dives.  Divers will be shown how to use the nitrox analyser and how to log their tank contents.

There is a final exam at the end of the Course. 

The Enriched Air Diver crewpak is included in the price of the Course and includes all required materials* to complete PADI’s Enriched Air Diver specialty. The Enriched Air Diver Manual covers the procedures for diving with Enriched Air (up to 40%) and divers will watch the Enriched Air Diving video on DVD which demonstrates step-by-step how to plan a dive using multiple dive tables. The crewpak also includes the 32%, 36% and the DSAT Oxygen Exposure tables. ( * The RDP^TM used in the PADI Open Water Diver course is required but not included with this crewpak.)

The Nitrox Course costs €150.  Divers need to pay a deposit of €100 to enrol on the Course and pick up Crew Pack.  Balance can be paid on the night.  Nitrox specialty is run every couple of months throughout the year.
