If you’ve completed your Navigation Specialty and are keen to take your navigation skills to the next level, the PADI Search & Recovery Specialty is for you!
The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty Course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface. You'll learn search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also cover limited visibility, search patterns and safe object recovery using lift devices.
We usually conduct our Search & Recovery Course in Lough Owel over 2 days. Divers practice various search techniques and are sent off in buddy teams to locate various objects. Bob the Buddy (our floating plastic bottle!) is familar to everyone who has completed their Search & Recovery Specialty or their Rescue Course with us, as he acts as 'missing diver'!

A bit of multitasking going on - using skills learned on the Digital Underwater Photography Specialty during the Search & Recovery Specialty!

This diver was so delighted to find 'Bob', he had his photo taken with him!
The PADI Search & Recovery Specialty is usually run 3 times a year - Spring (March/April), Summer (June/July) and Autumn (September/October). Keep an eye on our regular emails and the Dive Calendar for upcoming dates. The PADI Search & Recovery Specialty costs €295. A deposit of €100 is required when booking and to receive your Crew Pack. The balance should be paid before training dives begin. The price includes Course Materials, one Classroom Session, 4 Open Water Training Dives incl any equipment rental, Licence & Certificate.
